Modern History Press Author to Tour UP Breweries in June
Jon C. Stott, author of the new book Yooper Ale Trails: Craft Breweries and Brewpubs of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (Modern History Press, 2023), will be visiting local brewpubs and craft breweries in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula from June 8 to June 28, 2023.
Stott will visit 9 breweries in UP and hold book signing and meet-and-greet events there. The breweries on his scheduled tour are listed below along with dates and times of his visits. Interested brewery and beer fans can share a beer with Stott on this tour, chat about ale and lagers, and get their own autographed copy of the book.

- Friday, June 9 East Channel Brewing (Munising) 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm
- Saturday, June 10 Barrel + Beam Brewing (Marquette) 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
- Sunday, June 11 ByGeorge Brewing (Munising) 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
- Saturday, June 17 LaTulip Brewing (Cooks) 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
- Saturday, June 24 Blackrocks Brewery (Marquette) 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm

About Jon C Stott
Professor Emeritus of English (University of Alberta), Jon C. Stott grew up in Victoria, B.C. During his professional career, at Western Michigan University and the University of Alberta, Jon wrote such books as Native Americans in Children’s Literature and Canadian Children’s Books (with Raymond E. Jones). Since retirement his has written many books on minor league professional sports, including Ice Warriors: The Pacific Coast / Western Hockey League: 1948-1974 and Canadian Minor League Baseball: A History Since World War II, and beer travel guides including the award winning Island Craft: Your Guide to the Breweries of Vancouver Island and Yooper Ale Trails: Craft Breweries and Brewpubs of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. For over half a century, he has been spending extended summers in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He now spends the cold weather months in Albuquerque, NM.
