Jewel Kats at the World’s Biggest Bookstore in Toronto This Month

Award-winning children’s author, popular women’s web comic strip writer, and outspoken advocate for people with jewel Kats 8disabilities, Jewel Kats will participate in a book signing event on August 31st, Saturday, from 1:00–3:00 pm at World’s Biggest Bookstore in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada.

A Toronto native, the 34-year-old “Diva on a wheelchair” will be signing three of her seven books at the event, including: Cinderella’s Magical Wheelchair, Teddy Bear Princess, and DitzAbled Princess: A Comical Diary Inspired by Real Life.

Cinderella’s Magical Wheelchair is an empowering fairy tale for children with all forms of disabilities. Teddy Bear Princess eloquently teaches the values of sharing and caring. DitzAbled Princess is a collection of web comic strips based on Kats’ real life experiences. This reality-series web comic strip has accumulated over 700,000 fan views since February 2013,” Kats tells about her books.

Cinderella’s Magical Wheelchair is a picture book that will appeal to girls particularly from ages six to nine-years-old. However, all enthusiasts of the original “Cinderella” fairy tale will surely enjoy this new and unique re-telling. Teddy Bear Princess is a tale specifically weaved for toddlers. DitzAbled Princess will definitely put a smile on the lips of teens and women.

This year alone, Kats has earned two Mom’s Choice Awards. She’s appeared as a cover model for three international magazines. Her face has been featured on countless American media outlets. Recently, she was nominated for the Canadian Disability Hall of Fame by an inductee.

Kats’ books come with the message: “Life isn’t over when you have disabilities. You can live to the fullest, and enjoy being a Princess in every shape and form!”

For six years, Jewel penned a syndicated teen advice column for Scripps Howard News Service (USA) and TorStar Syndication Service (Canada). She’s won $20,000 in scholarships from Global Television Network and women’s book publisher, Harlequin Enterprises. Jewel also interned in the TV studio of Entertainment Tonight Canada. Her books have been featured in Ability Magazine twice. Jewel has authored seven books in total. Her latest award-winning children’s book is: The Princess and The Ruby: An Autism Fairy Tale.
