Reasons Your Health Insurance Premium is Going through the Roof
Almost everyone who has health insurance has come to realize one thing: it has become very expensive to maintain that insurance. There are a lot of reasons why health insurance is becoming ever more expensive with each passing day.
A big factor is that the number of people who have a chronic illness, such as Asthma or Diabetes, is on the rise. At least half of the population has Asthma, Diabetes, or some other very chronic illness.
When the health insurance companies have to pay out more in doctors’ visits and medication for people who are chronically ill, they have to begin charging more in order to be able to provide the right amount of coverage.
Unfortunately it isn’t just the rise of illness among the general population that is causing this increase in premiums. The raise in monthly premiums are also caused by other factors like fraud, more expensive testing equipment, and just from the fact that the general U.S. population is getting older. There are more senior citizens in the country today than there have ever been before.
