Fabuloso Recalls Nearly 5 Million Bottles of Cleaners

Posted on by in News

Food products are not the only ones recalled routinely over concerns of contamination with some pathogen. Other home and garden supplies are recalled at times. The big recall that made news nationwide this week involves Fabuloso cleaning products.

Fabuloso recalls cleaners

On February 8, Fabuloso posted a notice of voluntary recall of nearly 5 million bottles of their multi-purpose cleaners manufactured in the United States from December 14, 2022 through January 23, 2023. The reason cited by the company for recalling these products is not adding adequate levels of preservative, which means the products may carry certain bacteria. The recall notice says:

Therefore, the recalled products can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens, which are environmental organisms found widely in soil and water.

The company reminds that this recall applies to the US and Canada only. The site lists all the cleaners that have been recalled. For the U.S. customers, these fall into five types: Lavender Scent, Refreshing Lemon Scent, Passion of Fruits Scent, Spring Fresh Scent, and Ocean Scent. The Hill reported that the recalled products were sold online – via Amazon and other websites – as well as in stores like Dollar General, Family Dollar, The Home Depot, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and other retailers.

To find out whether any Fabuloso products you bought have been recalled, follow the company’s directions as included below.

Check the UPC (the 12-digit number next to the barcode) and manufacturing (lot) codes (embossed into the plastic of the bottle either above or below the back label) to confirm your products are included in the recall. Sample images are below.

As directed by Fabuloso, to process your reimbursement for eligible products, please complete the information on this form. If you have questions regarding this recall, please call 1-855-703-0166.
