Upcoming Poetry and Drawing Contests Themed on ‘Peace’

The following announcement comes from Dr. Stephen Gill, a well-known poet and fiction writer.

Poetry Contestpeace

Deadline: October 10, 2014. Winners will be announced at Bharat Times Banquet 2014 (to be announced later) and all participants will be recognized.

Age of participants: 18 years and up.

Subject: Peace Is

(The poem must entail what peace is and not the lack of it or the binary comparison. Think of a peaceful situation or imagine a peaceful scenario to resolve a conflict or to overcome an obstacle.

Prizes

$ 30.00 (first prize)
$ 20.00 (second prize)
$ 10.00 (third prize)

and all the authentic poems may be published in a book in 2015.

The poem must be original, never published before and submitted by the writer himself/herself only.

Drawing Contest

Deadline: October 10, 2014. Winners will be announced at Bharat Times Banquet 2014 (to be announced later) and all participants will be recognized.

Age of participants: up to 16 years of age.

Subject: Peace Is

(The drawing  must give a peaceful feeling to the onlooker. Think of a peaceful person, situation, event or ride your roller coaster of imagination.

Prizes

$ 30.00 (first prize);
$ 20.00 (second prize);
$ 10.00 (third prize);

and all the authentic drawings may be published in a book in 2015.

The drawing must be original, never printed before and submitted by the artist himself/herself accompanied by parent’s or guardian’s signature.
