Out of Darkness

My shadows succumb
to the pale purity
her grasp an eclipse
over my demons
reveals a lost clarity
from somewhere within
Back from the void
out of darkness
she came for me
and I will not let go
she sings my heart
in beautiful melody
My cold corpse
little but a shell
she stands over me
my spirit in herself
I sank into her eyes
my body no longer still
carving a path
unto her embrace
Longing for her grows
in every moment
yet we are as one
desire and soul
this broken hope
has become whole

Ryan Monaco, author of Out of Darkness, is a vocalist for extreme metal music. While music has always been his passion, his love for writing has been with him since childhood. He says writing poetry and songs gives him a sense of solace that he has yet to find anywhere else.
