Recovering the Self: Call for Submissions on DISABILITIES – closes 02/28/2011

We are looking for ALL kinds of essays, commentary, psychoeducation, inspirational writing, poems and more on DISABILITIES.  Deadline is 02/28/2011.  Suggested length:  750 to 2500 words

Topics within disabilities include

  • Personal stories (Point-of-View)
  • Beginning or end of a disability
  • Social consequences and stereotypes
  • New abilities or discoveries as a result of a dis-ability
  • Stories about groups, programs (e.g. animal therapy, cinematherapy, etc.)
  • Self-esteem
  • Giving and accepting help
