Guest Blogger: Muddassar Hosein

‘Eat and Run’ should be the motive of everyone’s life if one really wants to enjoy the healthy and happy life. Though, no one really likes to wake up early in the morning just to go out for running. However, few of the people succeed to do this after forcing themselves because of the benefits associated with running, whereas some of them consider sleeping the better option as compared to putting smelly gym shoes on and running.

One may ask, what should I do? The answer is pretty simple. Do what is good for you. Running is, undoubtedly, a good exercise and the best source to keep the body fit and in shape. You can say that running is a kind of gift that you can give to yourself due to the unlimited benefits associated with it.

3 Major Reasons to Run Regularly

Running can be considered as the best stress-reliever; according to regular runners, a long run is enough to make them feel calm, clear, and euphoric. Besides this, there are many other reasons, for which one should run on regular basis. Some of these reasons are as follows:

1. A Source to Weight Loss

Weight loss is one of the major concerns today, which makes people start running and there is no doubt that running is the best way to burn calories and drop a few pounds. You will be amazed to know that a 60-kg woman can burn 287 calories in a day while running at 10 km/hr. Besides this, running also helps in building muscle mass and increasing resting metabolism due to which your body will be able to burn more calories at rest.

2. Lifts Your Mood

Running helps in releasing the endorphins, which are also known as feel-good chemicals; as a result, runners feel calm and euphoric. That is why running is considered the best mild depression relief tool. Moreover, it will also help you in lifting your mood and building your self-esteem, as by running regularly, you will shed a few pounds and, eventually, will boost your self-confidence; whereas after running regularly, it will be easy for you to sleep better at night, which will make you feel more relaxed and fresh.

3. Improves Your Health

Do you know that running for one and half hour for only a week can improve your health notably? If no, then you must know that running is the best source to increase the lifespan of women and men by 5.6 years and 6.2 years respectively. Moreover, it strengthens your bones, boosts your immunity, as well as decreases the chances of blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer by 40% to 70%. Thus, you can say that the habit of running daily will increase your longevity.

So won’t you start running from today?
