Health Alert: Multiple Common Beverages May Contain Metal or Glass Pieces

Posted on by in News

Kraft Heinz has recalled multiple beverages manufactured by the company due to suspected presence of unhealthy or dangerous content, including metal or glass pieces. The products are being recalled in both United States and Canada.

As reported on mlive, select packages of several powdered beverages including Country Time Lemonade, Tang, Arizona Tea, and Kool-Aid have been recalled by Kraft Heinz citing “potential presence of foreign material, specifically very small pieces of metal or glass, that may have been introduced during production” as the reason.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an alert on November 22nd following the recall announcement by Kraft Heinz on November 20th, including specific dates of packages of powdered beverages that have now been recalled. The company has asked consumers who brought the packages in question to either return them to the stores where they were purchased or simply discard it.

The complete list of products recalled for potential health/safety risk is available at this FDA page.

For any questions regarding the product safety and concerns, Kraft Heinz asks consumers to call them at 1-855-713-9237 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Last month, the FDA issued an alert against using the Artnaturals scent-free hand sanitizer, citing risk of cancer associated with high levels of certain chemicals in the product.
