MangoBeat – Your New Green Music Amplifier

by Michell Spoden

Eco-friendly technology is the cry of our age. In literally every field, innovative people are making effort to come up with more affordable and eco-friendly devices so as to keep life sustainable on this planet. My guest today is one such person who has designed an innovative environment-friendly product in the field of sound amplification. Meet Germain E. Kwinson, a computer engineer, wood turner, and wood carver from Atlanta, Georgia.

Michell: Germain please tell our readers a bit about your product.

Germain Kwinson: It’s called MangoBeat and is all about eco-friendly, natural wooden music amplification. It’s a nature-based speaker crafted with engineering in mind for your maximum music enjoyment and is portable for you to grab it and go. No cords, no batteries, no worries; just wood. Each is handmade and has a unique look and feel. MangoBeat is art, nature, and technology as one.

Michell: How did you get started doing this?

Germain Kwinson: I started out by using my phone with red solo cups to amplify the sound on my phone, and then I came to realize that the music and the appearance can be improved for maximum amplification by combining art, nature, and technology.

Michell: How is the product made?

Germain Kwinson: The Product is hand-turned, hand carved, and furnished with a touch of leather.

Michell: Please share a bit about your early life hobbies.

Germain Kwinson: I grew up making my own toys from wood and carvings.

Michell: What have been some of your major influences in life and why?

Germain Kwinson: My family and the love I have for them have been the major Influences in my life. They are the ones that keep me going every day.

Michell: When you were a kid, what was your biggest dream and why? Did you find your dreams or goals changed in time?

Germain Kwinson: When I was a kid, my biggest dream was to become the best and most

educated engineer. My Uncle who raised me has served as my mother and I wanted to be just like him and an even better Engineer than he was. Yes, my dreams came true because I became a computer engineer and worked at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, which is the biggest airport in the world.

Michell: Do you support any charities or environmental causes?

Germain Kwinson: Yes, I support charities such as the Chattanooga Nature Center, Christian churches, and I support environmental causes such as Global Warming and Green Energy.

Michell: What are some of your long-term goals?

Germain Kwinson: One of my long-term goals is to expand the utilization of eco-friendly products across the globe.

Michell: If you could do or say anything to the world, what would it be?

Germain Kwinson: The one thing I would say to the world is that you can make your dreams come true if you set your mind to it and work hard towards your dreams and live your dream every day.
