Demand for Banning Foie Gras Drawing Attention Worldwide
Fiona Munro has started an important petition on Care2 to stop a cruel practice in French cuisine. Foie Gras, made from livers of abused ducks and geese. In the petitioner’s words, it is “cruelty promoted as luxury.”
The petition states:
“This is totally unacceptable and cruel. Due to free trade laws, UK being one of the biggest importers of Foie Gras, are importing this cruelty.”
The petition addresses the European Parliament, European Commission and the UK Parliament to ban the production and Importation of Foie Gras throughout Europe.
Aiming at 100,000 signatures, the petition already has reached nearly 90K voices endorsing it.
